Continuity of Education Attendance

For students in grades 6th-12th, all classes are still meeting twice a week.   Lessons are being done for all classes twice per week and Zoom class meetings started on April 6th.  Teachers have been logging attendance for students and grading assignments that have gone out each week.  Students that have completed all lessons for their classes and have met 80% attendance in each class via Zoom classes will be done with classes on May 7th and receive credit for the 4th quarter of the 2019-20 school year.

Students that do not complete all assigned lessons will be required to complete them during the week of May 11th-15th and meet with their teachers during their assigned Zoom meeting schedule.  Assignments that are not completed by May 15th will be made up during the summer via an online learning system.  Students who did not meet 80% attendance in their zoom classes will be required to attend their classes via zoom during the week of May 11th-15th.

Elementary students in grades K-5 will need to complete the assigned enrichment packets that are sent home weekly on Thursdays.   All enrichment packet worksheets should be returned completed to the school at the packet exchange the following Thursday, sent home with lunch deliveries, or dropped off at the front doors of the high school between the hours of 8:00-4:00 PM Monday-Friday.  The classroom teachers will be reviewing the classroom packet work that comes back.  Weekly grade averages will be determined based upon effort, participation, and understanding of content.  Students that have successfully completed these tasks will be done with extended learning on May 7th.  Students that do not have assignments turned into their respective teachers will be required to complete the assignments during the week of May 11th-15th.  Teachers will be in contact with students and parents via email, phone calls, or Zoom sessions to give feedback and go over lessons or activities that are returned.

It is the goal of Maywood Public Schools to ensure learning is still taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Classes are scaled with the amount of content being covered.  The lessons are being taught and still expected to be completed by all students.  Please contact the school with any questions or concerns.
