1st Place at McCook Paint-in

On Friday, April 16th, several of Miss. Foster's student artists participated in the Annual Paint-In Competition that was held at McCook Community College. Multiple schools were invited to participate in the event and were given 2.5 hours and a 4'x7' sheet of paper to complete the painting prompt: "Hieroglyphics in a Modern Era".  When their time was up, a judge evaluated the paintings based on the portrayal of the prompt. Overall, Maywood ranked 1st out of sixteen entries.

An installation of over two hundred student art pieces was also held in the Wrightstone Gallery at MCC. The categories included: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Printmaking, Mixed Media, and Photography. Pryce Johnston placed 2nd in the Drawing category with "Brook Trout", and Maddie Doyle placed 2nd in the Ceramics category with "It's a Yolk".
