MHC Wolves' Basketball deserves and demands our respect.

Ask any fan how M-HC Wolves’ Basketball is going, and you’re going to get a variety of responses. So it depends on which teams you’re talking about: Varsity Boys/Girls? JV? Jr.H Boys/Girls? That’s because each team is unique and performing at its own level. For instance, the boys’ varsity has been struggling, yes, but they have also bounced back, and had some good wins, and near wins.

When asked how he thought the boys were doing, Coach Hamilton stated “the boys have worked really hard and they are starting to see that rewarded with some wins. They’ve improved tremendously from the beginning of the year.”  He is happy with their effort and hopes to continue working with them.  “They have come so far from where they were, we can’t wait to see how much they improve in the rest of the season,” said Hamilton.  Nice Job Wolves! Keep up the hard work; we can’t wait to see you next season!!

The girls have worked unbelievably hard, and they have had many wins and a few loses. “I really enjoy getting to coach such a great, hard-working set of girls! They are bound-and-determined to get better each day, and better their teammate beside them,” said Coach Cox. She further stated “The Lady Wolves have set incredible expectations for themselves as individuals and as an entire team. They show no signs of giving up until they reach each goal. We have had the expected ups and downs of a season and we have gotten some nice wins under our belt. The roll these girls have been on lately can only take us deep into the post-season!” It has been a wonderful season for the Lady Wolves! We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us at Sub-Districts.

The coaches are also excited about the great progress the junior high girls and boys have demonstrated this year. Coach Miller had this to say
regarding the junior high girls' team: "I have enjoyed coaching this team very much, it has been a lot of fun. The girls have had a wonderful season and have really come a long ways. We have learned a lot about each other and about basketball as well. I am very proud of the girls, their accomplishments, and how they have come together as a team this season."

Regardless of each team’s win- loss record, these young men and women have dedicated themselves to representing our school. They chose to work, make sacrifices, and put themselves on the line for 20 nights over three months. All our players display courage and determination every time they set foot on the court. Win or lose, that kind of commitment and effort deserves and demands our respect. Basketball is nearly over and I know both the boys and girls are sad, but it’s been a great season. We can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll do next year!
