Moving Forward: March 26th, 2020--Update

Maywood School Families,

The following is a message that schools in our ESU-15 region and Southwest Public Health Region have received about the plan for schools moving forward due to COVID-19.

“Southwest Nebraska Health Department (SWNPHD) has been in consultation with state and local partners regarding the expanding COVID-19 pandemic. It is a public health department recommendation that public and parochial schools in the SWNPHD health district do not plan on returning to school until after May 1, 2020, for the 2019-2020 school year. Although school campuses remain closed and normal school operations are suspended, faculty and staff may continue to report to work.”

Maywood Public Schools will continue to provide educational learning opportunities for their students according to the plan provided by teachers.Meal service will continue to be provided to students that choose. This decision and recommendation by SWNPHD to continue to have the school closed till May 1, will be monitored and re-evaluated as circumstances change.

The NSAA has suspended all activities and practices through May 1st.The suspensions may be extended should the conditions warrant.  Prom has been postponed and all other school activities will be suspended until further notice.  Parents, students, and families will be updated accordingly.

Library books can be sent to school with completed packets. Students can reserve physical books through the online card catalog. Instructions are the on the school website article Online Resources.

Mrs. Carey will collect requested titles, check them out to students and include them with your child's enrichment learning packet. If you need assistance with the checkout procedure call the school or email robyn.carey@maywoodtigers.org
