4th graders all cracked up over hands-on science lesson

On Monday, March 13th, Kathy Burr, from the Frontier Extension office and Turena Ehlers brought Mrs. Bollish’s 4th graders some eggs and discussed embryology with us.

For the next 18 days, the students exercised (turned) the eggs three times a day and keept them warm in an incubator.  Every Monday, Kathy stopped by to show how the chicks were developing.  On the 21st day, they had a special delivery!!  When the students arrived at school, they found six new baby chicks.  During that same day, they were able to watch another chick break free from its shell!!  That gave them a total of seven baby chicks, who are all active and chirping away. Now That's something to CHEEP about!
