A-Team champs raid Wild Bill's once again

CRASH!  POW!  Bowling balls thundered down lanes and smashed into pins. PEW! PEW! PEW! laser tag guns flashed across a dark obstacle course. Had you been at Wild Bill’s Wings and Bowling Alley on the afternoon of March 7th, you would have heard these sounds mixed with the laughing and cheering of elementary and high school students. In between the games there were boxes of pizza to eat and, of course, buffalo wings heaped up on plates for the partygoers to devour. What brought all this excitement and celebration? It was reward day recognizing Maywood's 2015-2016 A-Team champions.

The Academic Achievement  program has proven very successful these last three years, and as a result the team that improved the most in MAPS and NeSA scores earned a reward for their hard efforts and determination. The high school A-Team winners were Von Fritsche, Karlie Gerlach, Tyler Schleeman, Daniel Doyle, and  Dylon Strobel. Mrs. Kennedy's Kindergarteners and Mrs. Donohoe's 2nd graders from the 2015-2016 school year were the elementary champions. This day of recognition and rewards motivated other Maywood students to achieve their goals that they set for themselves. MPS is looking to recognize and celebrate new champions every year as all students work hard to improve their overall skills and test scores.
