MPS Kicks Off its Jr. High Fall Sports
The Jr. High fall sports season has started here at Maywood. The volleyball team had their first game against Hitchcock County on Thursday. Volleyball is coached by Mrs. Arent, and I had the chance to speak with her before the game. “ They’re a young group of girls and we are looking to improve throughout the season,” stated Coach Arent. Unfortunately the Lady Jr. Tigers were unable to bring home a win their first time on the court.

The football team is coached by Mr. Kennedy. They, too, played Hitchcock County on Thursday. I was fortunate enough to speak with Mr. Kennedy after the game. When asked how he felt about the Jr. Tigers’ performance, he responded “I think being down 24-0 in the first half and coming back to win it 34-30 shows their desire to win, and I think we are going to see a lot of good things from this team.”
