Launch the media gallery 1 playerMy Name is Mark Bejot and I am excited to be living in Maywood and serving as your Superintendent of Schools. I was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska and attended Nebraska schools graduating from Seward, Nebraska in 1978. Following high school, I attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Education in 1982. I completed my Masters in Educational Administration and Secondary Education at Kansas State University in 1997. I completed my Educational Specialist licensure through Fort Hays State University.
My first teaching assignment was at Wamego, KS as a Vocational Ag teacher, Young Farmer Advisor and FFA Alumni Advisor. My FFA Chapter was a top 10% chapter each year. During my second year of teaching I married Julie Rathje, and from this union, two girls were born, Lorinda and Megan. Lorinda is married to Joe Mollenkamp and they reside in Aviano, Italy. Joe is a Captain in the Air Force working in AWACS ground radar equipment. They have one child, Jesse and he will be two this December 1st.
My second daughter Megan lives in Syracuse, NE and works in the laboratory at the Syracuse Hospital. She has been extremely busy with all the Covid-19 and blood testing performed at the hospital. She owns a cat nicknamed “Baggy.” Megan is making plans for marriage in October 2021.
I enjoy fishing and hunting when time permits. Meeting friendly neighbors, towns’ people and farm and ranch families is fun. Watching Nebraska and Kansas State University sports is also a hobby, whether football, volleyball, basketball or baseball. Finally, I am a lifelong learner and enjoy reading various educational and history books. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you!
