My name is Patricia Bauer. I am originally from Spalding, Nebraska located about an hour north of Grand Island. I graduated from Spalding Academy and went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for two years majoring in Meteorology. While I studied at Lincoln, I did a work study as an aide in a few elementary schools. I began to readjust my thinking on my career and switch my major to education. After switching my major, I transferred to Wayne State College and majored in a Middle School Education with an emphasis in Social Studies and Science. I graduated from Wayne State College and did my student teaching through Kansas State University.

I am married to John Bauer and we have two children, Lily who is in 6th grade and Olivia who is in 3rd grade. My husband works for the Frontier County Sheriffs department as a Deputy. He is also an EMT for the Frontier County Ambulance, and a firefighter for the Maywood Fire Department.

At Maywood Public School, I teach a wide variety of Middle Level education. I teach 6th grade Language Arts, History, Reading, Math, and Science; 7th Grade Science and History. I am also Elementary, Junior High, and High School Quiz Bowl coach, co-coach of One-Act, and Freshman sponsor.

My mission as a teacher is to positively impact my students. I want to show them that it is a matter of how you approach something and for every event, there is an outcome. I want to show them that no matter how you look at or approach a subject, there is always something you can take away from it. I want to open their eyes to worldly events and discuss how we could "hypothetically" solve the issues being presented by what we have covered in the different subjects.
