Maywood's March Students of the Month

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WINNER:

Mykel Brown

Nominated by Ms. Love

RESPONSIBILITY-Mykel is responsible by using her classwork time during math and reading mastery wisely, she completes her work so that it looks neat and legible.  She works without scribbling or rushing through the problems.  With our classroom job, Mykel takes full responsibility of hers and carries it out with having to be reminded.

RESPECTFUL-Mykel is respectful to others students and teachers by using her manners.  She is willing to help out her classmates by offering her assistance during math (peer teaching) or reading a book to her other classmates.  Mykel is respectful by letting other have their turn to talk at carpet time, she controls her words by not blurting out or interrupting. 

SAFETY-Mykel is safe while she walks from class to class using walking fee and keeping her hands to herself clasped in front of her or kept in her pockets.  She uses classroom materials such as scissors, expo markers, and glue stick appropriately.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS-Mykel has a big heart and is always willing to cheer her classmates on.  Anytime that there is a celebration for someone, Mykel is usually the one to lead it (ex. giving three claps to a friend for getting 100% on a test)  She is positive and a great role model for others. 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL WINNER:

Pryce Johnston

Nominated by Mrs. Bauer

My nomination for Student of the Month is Pryce Johnston. She is always on time to class, respectful to her teachers, and respectful to her classmates within the classroom and also outside of the classroom. She always gets her homework done on time and is always asking questions when she does not understand something. She uses her time in class well and is always working on other material if she has spare time. She participates in class and is willing to join into the discussion on various topics. She does not get discouraged when met with a problem and works through them. She helps out around the classroom and when asked, will help out during quiz bowls. She always has a good attitude towards learning and is willing to try something new even when she is not sure how it will all work out or whether it will be right in the end.

HIGH SCHOOL WINNER:

Karlie Gerlach

RESPONSIBLILITY-Karlie always comes to class prepared.  She has assignments finished and all materials needed to take notes or do assignments.  She completes her homework on time and follows all classroom directives.  She follows classroom and school rules.  She goes above and beyond when finishing homework assignments. 

RESPECTFUL-Karlie is respectful to teachers, her classmates and to herself.  She listens in class and is willing to help out where needed.  She respects school and personal property and takes care of her things.

SAFETY-Karlie is aware of her surroundings and does her best to keep herself safe.  She does not get referred to the office for misbehavior.  She walks in the hallways and does not bother others.  She uses all school property appropriately and respectfully.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS-Her yearbook pages are done exceptionally well and she takes pride in doing a great job.  Her homework assignments are always neat and turned in on time.
