The Country Gardeners of Maywood/Wellfleet have generously donated two wonderful books about environmental conservation to our library. Frightened Frog by Brenda Moore and Jean Ohlmann of National Garden Club, illustrated by Emily Lackey is the first one.  The second selection is The Saved Seed, by Brenda Moore, illustrated by Emily Lackey.

These books were presented by two of the junior gardeners, Karlee Hatfield, a 3rd grader and her sister, Kassidy Hatfield, a 5th grader.

Our local chapter of FFA will be using these two selections for activities this fall with the elementary students.

The Country Gardeners of Maywood/Wellfleet mission is to promote gardening in the community.  They meet the last Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m. in a member’s home or the Clubhouse in Maywood.  You may call Deanna Koester of Wellfleet for more information.  They welcome young and old who have a passion for gardening.
