Developing Tomorrow's Speakers Today
On Wednesday, January 6th, Maywood FFA members attended the Leadership Skills Event (LSE) contest that was held in Curtis on the campus of NCTA. Students competed in events like Agricultural Demonstration, Job Interview, Creed Speaking, and Extemporaneous Speaking.
The Ag Demo team of Marisa Foster, Bailey Brown, & Tucker Hartley earned a second place purple ribbon and will compete at the Nebraska State FFA Convention in April. Here are the other results:
Von Fritsche- blue ribbon 4th place Job Interview
Kaely Perkins- red ribbon Senior Public Speaking
Bryar Gerlach- blue ribbon 4th place Extemporaneous Speaking
Paige Wood- blue ribbon 6th place Creed Speaking
Tate Hartley- blue ribbon 3rd place Creed Speaking
Karlie Gerlach- blue ribbon 5th place Discovery Speaking
Nolan Benjamin- blue ribbon 6th place Discovery Speaking
Nebraska Leadership Skills Events (LSE) provide FFA members with experience in the practice of influencing others through speaking and parliamentary procedure competitions. Students compete at district-level LSEs in order to qualify for competition at State FFA Convention in the spring.
