Minary takes 2nd Place at State Track Meet

Neither rain nor wind could thwart the Tigers’ determination to score at the 2015 State Track Meet.  MPS freshman, Kayla Minary, earned 2nd place in the 1600 meter (mile) run with a time of 5:36.38. Minary went on to take 5th place in the 3200 meter (2-mile) run with the watch stopping at 12:08.35.

Senior Abby Wermeister muscled a 4 kilogram ball of steel through the air  35’05” to earn 17th place in the Shot Put event. Sophomore Bryar Gerlach kept his pace and secured an 8th Place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:29.84.  Gerlach also got 12 place in the 1600 meter run coming in with a time of 4:51.30.

MPS and the community salute these young athletes for their courage, determination and pursuit of excellence. Not only are they the embodiment of champions, but also fine ambassadors of MPS and the Maywood community. When you see these young adults in the community, congratulate them on their exciting achievements.
